Cloud9 was a self-initiated project created to uplift and bring people together through a joyful, imaginative experience centered around vision-boarding and collective dreaming. The goal was to design a virtual environment that served as both a visual metaphor and a community gathering space—where participants could reflect on their aspirations for the year ahead.

The project required:

  • A dreamlike, cloud-based environment for hosting events and showcasing participant vision boards

  • A format that encouraged interaction, lightness, and inspiration

  • Accessibility across devices, including VR headsets, web browsers, and mobile phone

My Role & Process

Creative Concept & Design Direction
I envisioned Cloud9 as a whimsical, uplifting experience—where cloud cars transport participants between floating platforms and horizons. The space was designed to evoke a sense of elevation, playfulness, and calm.

Rapid Prototyping & Spatial Design

  • Sketched and sculpted the environment using Substance Modeller, Blender and Gravity Sketch

  • Designed cloud paths, floating vision board displays, and spacious terraces for conversation

  • Integrated gentle motion, particles effect and sound to create a meditative, hopeful atmosphere

  • Tools: Gravity Sketch, Midjourney, Substance Modeler, Substance Painter, Unity, Spatial.io

Collaborative Activation & Event Flow

  • Participants were invited to pre-create their personal vision boards

  • Boards were displayed in the virtual space on the day of the event

  • Community members gathered for a guided journey from Cloud 0 to Cloud 9, symbolizing a collective shift toward higher aspirations

  • Live facilitation and interactive segments encouraged reflection, storytelling, and connection

Technical Execution

  • Environment built in Unity with spatial anchors for vision boards

  • Skybox, lighting, and animations designed to feel weightless and dreamy

  • Deployed on Spatial.io with Spatial+ support for enhanced features and user experience

Outcome & Impact

  • Gathered a community of Web3 creatives and dreamers for an intimate, meaningful virtual experience

  • Engaged participants emotionally through an accessible, playful format

  • Successfully used the event as a promotional and proof-of-concept piece for future immersive work

  • The project was self-funded and served as a personal statement of vision, energy, and creative direction

  • The Cloud9 experience received positive feedback and sparked discussions about hybrid well-being and social VR activations
