Case Study 1:

INCRECO
Metaverse Art Gallery – Concept Art & World Building

Challenge

Challenge

A client needed a persistent online space serving three key functions:

  • A Web3 art gallery and events area

  • A conference center for talks and panel discussions

  • Seminar rooms for hosting workshops

The aesthetic vision was a futuristic, grand, and monumental space with light-filled, glass-like structures and aluminum materials, creating an organic, artistic, and immersive feel. The platform needed to be accessible to non-gamers and a mature audience via web browsers, mobile, and VR headsets.

Beyond design, I also guided the client through the metaverse platform selection process and helped them understand the technical and creative aspects of building in VR.

Approach & Skills Used

Approach & Skills Used *

  • AI-Assisted Ideation: The client used MidJourney to generate mood board references for their vision.

  • Rapid Concepting: Extracted key visual themes from the AI-generated mood board and sculpted multiple architectural silhouettes in Gravity Sketch for client review.

  • 3D Environment & Structure: After the silhouette was approved, I designed the spatial layout, interior structures, user journey, and detailed elements (e.g., modular divisions, terraces, staircases, columns, and abstract sculptural forms) using Blender and Gravity Sketch.

  • Texturing & Material Creation: Developed unique surface textures using Substance Painter and created custom materials in Unity.

  • Platform Integration: Used Spatial SDK for Unity to add interactivity, colliders, and seamless navigation.

  • Atmospheric Design: Generated a dynamic skybox with Blockade Labs to enhance immersion.

The full design process was structured into phases: the core experience was conceptualized and deployed within the first month, allowing immediate testing and engagement, while additional refinements and iterations took place over the following weeks. This phased approach enabled continuous adjustments based on real-time user feedback, ensuring the final space met both creative and functional expectations., with weekly iterations and testing sessions where the client refined their expectations and requested adjustments. Thanks to the rapid deployment of the space on Spatial.io, the client had the unique opportunity to test the environment in real-time and request modifications throughout the process. This iterative approach allowed for adjustments based on user feedback and evolving creative direction.

Outcome

Successfully launched a flexible, evolving virtual environment, with key areas ready for visitors.

  • Hosted a guided art walk event, creating an immersive and engaging curated experience.

  • Enabled NFT sales and live interactions, driving commercial success and audience participation.

  • Currently developing AI-driven experiences, POAPs, and enhanced NFT sales features to expand engagement and monetization opportunities.
